When analyzing the efficiency under Windows 7, Kaspersky was the last among all six brands participating in the test. He found 99.8% of known viruses in the first month of testing and 99.7% percent in the second, but the rest of the antiviruses also managed either better. While Avira, Bitdefender and Panda stopped 100% zero-day threats for both months, Kaspersky in the first month missed 2.3%-worse results among the six participants. Kaspersky managed much better in the Austrian independent AV-Comparatives laboratory when assessing the effectiveness of antivirus programs in which they were attacked by zero-day viruses through web browsers. Only Kaspersky could stop 100% of malware within two months. Avira and Bitdefender were behind with a slight lag behind, conceding 0.2% of threats in the first month. It is important to note that AV-Comparatives tested antiviruses under 64-bit Windows 7, and AV-TEST used a less secure 32-bit version of the operating system.
